Did you know that English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world? Around 13% of the world speaks English and most of that is made up of people who don’t speak it natively! So whether it’s your family, your partner or people you work with, you’ll probably need to understand and speak English at some point in your life.
At The Language Tavern, we offer bespoke classes to help you learn English as a foreign language.
Nobody learns in exactly the same way. Everyone is unique. That’s why everything I do is tailored to what you need. Instead of following a strict curriculum, I build your learning around your needs, desires, and objectives.
Is English Hard To Learn?
I’m not going to sugar coat things for you though – while English is easy enough to learn at first, it can be difficult to fully master it. That’s mainly because the English don’t like consistency and so their rules and the intricacies of the language get much more complicated the more fluent you become!
BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t master it. In fact, I have gone through the process of learning English as a second language, since my mother tongue is Italian. So I can understand some of the struggles you may face and can help you navigate them as and when they happen.
What You Get With English Lessons
When you choose The Language Tavern, you’re choosing an English teacher who works with you, not against you. I don’t treat you like a child in school and I won’t make you read out of a textbook. Instead, we will work together to understand your learning style and I will develop lesson plans to match your needs. I can do this in a group setting or one-on-one, online or in-person, and I’m very flexible on timetables to accommodate even the busiest of schedules.
The Language Tavern uses a communicative and immersive approach to teaching English, which means I will help you not only learn the words, but understand the context they’re used in both written and spoken, and empower you to have real conversations. I sometimes even take you on little field trips to practise your new skills in the local area! I bring in authentic materials to bring context to the language, and my aim is to open up the gates of communication between you and the English-speaking world.

We know that everyone learns differently and everyone has different interests and reasons for learning a language, and so we adapt our approach to suit you. There’s no official course or curriculum we follow strictly – we move at your pace and make sure you’re confident before we take the next step.
